Get Riff
Everything you need to put a player on your site, in one zip.
A zip for the Plugins screen. Free software under the GPL, version 2 or later, like WordPress.
Requirements
- WordPress7.0 or newer
- PHP8.1 or newer
- ThemeAny theme. The Listen page template needs a block theme.
- Anything elseNothing. No build step, no settings screen, no account.
Install it
- In your site's dashboard, go to Plugins, then Add New Plugin, then Upload Plugin.
- Choose the zip you downloaded and press Install Now.
- Press Activate Plugin. Every post with audio or video in it now plays through Riff.
New to WordPress? Add your music starts from the beginning and ends with an album on your site.
Update it
Riff is not on the WordPress.org plugin directory, so the Plugins screen will not offer updates on its own. To update, download the new zip and upload it the same way. WordPress notices the plugin is already installed and offers to replace the current version with the uploaded one. Your posts, files and settings are untouched; the plugin keeps nothing of its own outside them.
